Swine Flu!

Yikes! We had an emergency staff meeting today regarding the swine flu. Maricopa County (where we live) has one case of the swine flu. It's an 8 year old boy. He is recovered now, but his school is closed. There are 4 more "potential" swine flu cases here too. They are waiting for test results to come in to either deny or confirm the cases.

Anyway during our meeting today we were given a list of symptoms to watch out for, and if any of the kids have any of them we need to send them to the nurse ASAP. The nurse has sent home like 8-10 kids a day! I'm so paranoid at work because I can't even take much of anything for a regular cold, none the less the swine flu!

They also told us that if the 4 potential cases come back positive the ADE (Arizona Department of Education) and the AZ Health Department will be closing all schools in Maricopa County for a week or two. The "extra" vacation would be fun, but I would rather not worry about that!

Alex has been sick for about a week now. He is pretty much over it now, but when I was reading the list of symptoms which include fever, loss of appetite, vomiting, diarrhea, cough, runny nose ect I was like "OH CRAP!!!!!!!! MY baby has the swine flu!" Then I kept reading and it said SEVER head aches, difficulty breathing, fluid sounding lungs and was like "Phew he doesn't have any of those" Besides I took him to the drs last week, and they said he was ok. But geesh my heart was pounding the first section!

Kim told me that Corona has 2 swine flu cases! SCARY! WEAR MASKS PEOPLE!! And San Diego has cases too! Ack!

Anyway now that I've freaked myself out again it's bed time lol

(Enjoyed my UP LIFTING post?)

Before I was a Mom

cid:image004.gif@01C9C34C.1785DF30
Before I was a Mom,
I never tripped over toys
or forgot words to a lullaby.
I didn't worry whether or not
my plants were poisonous.
I never thought about immunizations.

Before I was a Mom,
I had never been puked on.
Pooped on.
Chewed on.
Peed on.
I had complete control of my mind
and my thoughts.
I slept all night.

Before I was a Mom,
I never held down a screaming child
so doctors could do tests.
Or give shots.
I never looked into teary eyes and cried.
I never got gloriously happy over a simple grin.
I never sat up late hours at night
watching a baby sleep.

Before I was a Mom,
I never held a sleeping baby just because
I didn't want to put her down.
I never felt my heart break into a million pieces
when I couldn't stop the hurt.
I never knew that something so small
could affect my life so much.
I never knew that I could love someone so much.
I never knew I would love being a Mom.

Before I was a Mom,
I didn't know the feeling of
having my heart outside my body..
I didn't know how special it could feel
to feed a hungry baby.
I didn't know that bond
between a mother and her child.
I didn't know that something so small
could make me feel so important and happy.

Before I was a Mom,
I had never gotten up in the middle of the night
every 10 minutes to make sure all was okay.
I had never known the warmth,
the joy,
the love,
the heartache,
the wonderment
or the satisfaction of being a Mom.
I didn't know I was capable of feeling so much,
before I was a Mom .

Opps

I've been slacking on my blog! Opps! I have a good excuse... um yeah ok I don't.

I am now 16 weeks pregnant. The baby is about the size of nasty avocado! I feel her move all the time now. Moves around a lot when Alex is around talking or crying. Baby must like him or something lol Or is trying to get at him and punch him LOL

Alex is talking like crazy! His favorite phrase is "Just a little second" over ANYTHING! It could be waking up or going to bed lol Weirdo child. He is so hilarious! I need to record everything he does and post it on here.

David asked me what I wanted for Mother's Day, and I told him I want a little video camera. I saw a cute / good one at Khols for like $88! http://kohls.shoplocal.com/kohls/default.aspx?action=detail&flashbrowse=y&storeid=2597279&rapid=686654&pagenumber=5&listingid=-2089882204&ref=%2fkohls%2fdefault.aspx%3faction%3dbrowsepageflash%26storeid%3d2597279%26pagenumber%3d5%26rapid%3d686654%26prvid%3dKohls-090426

Wow!

I may complain about my wild and crazy kids all the time! haha but I was looking at the calendar today, and realized that there are only 6 weeks of school left!!!! (Well 7 if you count this week we are currently in) I can't believe how fast it seems! Sheesh! So much left to teach, and so little time left to do it in!

Talking about time flying by! I'm already 15 weeks pregnant! Seems like we JUST found out I was pregnant! We have about 5 weeks left before we find out what this little person is! We are still "feeling" girl. So we'll see!

Also Alex is 3! Now THAT went by way super fast!!!!! I remember him being born! It's so amazing that when you are little you think it will take FOREVER for Summer or Christmas, or your birthday to come. Now they seems to come WAY too fast for me!!! Since I'll have a little newborn around the Holidays, I've decided to start my shopping NOW. I'm making a list and checking stores when I'm out to see if I can catch anything on sale! So if you have any ideas for gifts for the kidlets or your family let me know! (o:

(Oh yeah and before I forget! I hate taxes!)

Easter

We wanted to take Alex to this golf course for an Easter Egg hunt, but it rained all day! So we didn't go. So we had a little egg hunt for him at my Mom's house in her backyard. It was fun. He loved finding the eggs! And had even more fun when he realized there was candy IN the eggs! (o:

The Easter Bunny brought Alex a
basket full of bubbles, monster
trucks, a bunny and LOTS
of candy!

Here he is checking out
his monster truck.

It cleared up later on in the day so we
had a small egg hunt for Alex at Nana's
house. He had fun!

He was laughing when he figured
out the eggs had candy inside!

I didn't realize we were matching
that day until I just saw this picture! LOL

Lemon Baby

Our baby is about the size of a large lemon! YUM! I love lemons too!!!

Your baby can now squint, frown, grimace, pee, and possibly suck his thumb. Thanks to brain impulses, his facial muscles are getting a workout as his tiny features form one expression after another. His kidneys are producing urine, which he releases into the amniotic fluid around him — a process he'll keep up until birth. He can grasp, too, and if you're having an ultrasound now, you may even catch him sucking his thumb. In other news: Your baby's stretching out. From head to bottom, he measures 3 1/2 inches — about the size of a large lemon — and he weighs 1 1/2 ounces.

Dr Appointment

I had a dr's appointment today. The babies heartbeat is between 155-160 bpm. Dr. Fernandez asked me if I wanted to know what her gut feeling was about the baby's gender. She said based on the heartbeat, the way I'm showing that she is pretty sure the baby is a GIRL! I have another dr appointment on May 11th, then 2 weeks later I have my BIG Ultrasound to confirm the babies gender! So let's hope Dr. Fernandez is right! (o:
(P.S. Don't get me wrong I will be HAPPY if the baby is a boy too!! Having 2 boys would be fun, having one of each would be fun too! (o:)
Oh yeah and I lost 5 lbs. So, so far I've lost 9 lbs! YEY! And everything else was good too!

Dumb Kids!

I have 8 kids who are on in school suspension for fighting in the playground today! They were fighting over the soccer field! They were literally fighting! Like punching and yelling and kicking etc 3 of mine had bloody noses, and a few had scratches. They weren't fighting each other they were fighting with the 6th graders! SO stupid! The 6th graders think they "OWN" the school, and the playground and they feel that they should be allowed to tell the rest of the kids who is allowed to play on the soccer field, and who isn't. So my kids got mad and started yelling at them. Someone called someone ugly another person called someone fat. Anyway someone pushed someone and all hell broke loose! Now we have a total of like 18 kids on in school suspension. They were going to be suspended but since we have AIMS testing all next week they can't be gone for the test. So I was so mad and the 6th grade teacher Ms. Woessner was mad, and Mr. Todd (Principal) was mad. We couldn't believe how stupid out kids were being! ::sigh:: I'm glad it's Friday!

My kidneys

So after a week, I finally got the results of my renal ultrasound! My kidneys are fine! So who knows WHY I was having "problems" haha Oh well! At least they are fine! I should tell the doctors office they owe me a Disneyday now! LOL

Nothing good can come of April Fools Day (Well my sister in laws birthday is today! but other than that NOTHING!) lol

I think I will refuse to talk to anyone today! Or at least believe anything anyone says! Stupid April Fools!!
