Passport Office Employees Suck!

So, for those of you who know. A few years ago like RIGHT before David and I got married, we had our marriage license, his birth certificate, my Citizenship Certificate and other important information in a file folder so that everything will be easy to grab and all be put in one place. Anyway I'm not sure HOW it happened, but I must have thrown it away, with that junk mail that was piled on top of it. Anyway now David has HUGE Identity theft and it's been a pain trying to get that taken care of. (THATS another story on why I hate Bank of America). So David's birth certificate, and our marriage license were replaced. I had to re order my certificate (Since I was born in Nicaragua, and came to the U.S when I was like 6 or 9 months old, I could never remember). That certificate would take about a year to arrive and cost over $200 to replace! Well by the time it was due to come, we had moved from California to Arizona, so they mailed it out and it went to California AFTER I gave them my new address! Ugh! So I called a few months ago to figure out where it went, and they said it was never returned to them, and I have to order a new one! UGH! At least I dont have to pay for it again! The cost went up to over $300! Yikes! Anyway AZ state law is requiring all employees to have proof of citizenship as on January 1, 2008. So I called the INS and they told me that if I had my dad come with me and be my identifying witness to my U.S Citizenship I could get my passport. So we both took Wednesday off and made the long long drive to Los Angeles (since that is the closest passport office to us. They have like a million passport acceptance offices all over the place, but with my special circumstance I had to go to an actual office!) Anyway we get there and they tell me that the 4 different people I talked to on 4 different days had given us wrong information! So we pretty much drove all the was to Los Angeles, and back to Tolleson in one day! That was over 750 miles!!!!!! So now I have to go to the INS office, and get a letter that says I am a legal citizen and that is all I need! UGH! The INS office is like 30 minutes from my house! I could use that letter for my employment, and my dad and I could have saved our days off for something fun like gettin a root canal or something! Dumb passport lady kept contradicting herself too! She said "We dont have access to the INS files, to look up citizenship information." then like a few minutes later she said "If this is a life or death situation we could look up your information on the INS database!" UGH!!!! Why do people make everything harder than it should be? People suck! )o:

Well...

Well I haven't updated in a while. Alex has been sick. I took him to the doctors today because he hasn't been wanting to eat since like Thursday! He has a throat infection, and an ear infection! Poor baby! He has been WAY whiny and sad. He is doing better today, actually ate some.. Hopefully he is feeling 100% by Friday when we go to California!!

On Friday it's our work Christmas Party / Christmas Concert. Our party is going to be at the Olive Garden! Yum!! We have half day of school that day so we are going there at 1pm. We have a gift exchange too. I don't know the teachers very well. So that was kinda hard shopping for my Secret Santa. Oh well... Then after the party we have our Christmas Concert! I'm so excited! I've been working with my class on Singing "The First Noel" and "A Wonderful Winter Day!" The music teacher taught me how to play them both on the keyboard so I'll play along with the kids on Friday! It will be so fun!

After the Concert which ends at 7pm, we're going to drive to California for our fun weekend of Family, Presents and fun! (o: I cant wait!!!!!!!!!!

My friend Brenda goes back to work on Friday, so my mom will be watching her three kids, Iliana, 9; Sierra, 4 and Adrian 6 weeks! I cant wait! I love love new babies! So I'll get over my "We should have another baby kick" lol Anyway I'm just trying to fill up room here since rumor has it I should update my blog!

Stairs+Buddled up sleeping toddlers=falling

So I had a rough morning lol (Sheesh it's only 8:27am!) I was rushing trying to get out the door this morning. I had to get my stuff, and Alex's stuff into the car, I wasn't wearing a sweatshirt or anything when I ran out, and man it was like a slap in the face cold!!!!! (I know, I know we don't know "Cold" Sam lol) But dang it was FREEZING! So I decided to just run to the car to throw our stuff in, and I tripped on the stupid little snowmen lights that *I* insisted looked GREAT right outside the front door! LOL Anyway I caught my balance and threw our stuff in the car. I rushed back inside and did a fast warm up jiggy lol Then I remembered that it was trash day!!!!!! Ugh! Back outside I open the garage door, and look inside the trash can and we only have a bag of empty dog food in it?? Where the heck is all of our trash? LOL Oh well I'm freezing because I didn't get a sweatshirt again! So back inside I go. Its about 6:37am and I still need to get Alex in warm jammies and his beanie. So I go to his room grab warm clothes for him, and proceed my normal morning fighting routine with my 1 year old son. On top of that he has a cold, so I have to give him his medicine too! Poor kid was MAD! So I finally get him ready its now 6:52am, I'm running REALLY late! I keep thinking of the stupid empty trash can that is made me run late! So as I'm thinking I better hurry, no more distractions.... them BAM! No time to put my hands down to catch my fall or anything! I fell down the stairs, bundled up toddler and all! I like fell in slow motion where I didn't even bend my legs or anything I just fell straight back, hitting my back, (which has been hurting for a few days anyways) my shoulders, and the back of my head! I didn't even have time to worry about myself! I had now a bundled up hysterical toddler! He was luckily ok since I fell straight back he didn't get hurt at all. And to top it off.... I forgot my breakfast!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh and when I turned out on the car radio they said it was 39 degrees this morning!

Chatter Box

So Alex decided that everything could be answered with "Oh No!". By everything, I mean everything...

"Alex look at the doggie"... "Oh No!"
"Alex come here!"... "Oh No!"
"Alex what does the doggie say?"..."Oh No"

LOL Its cute for the most part, but then when I really want an answer and he says "Oh no" it gets old lol

He is also talking A LOT more lately. It surprises me with what he says sometimes...

He was jumping on the couch and I asked him "Are you supposed to be jumping on the couch?" and he said "Maybe" LOL

David let Achilles (or dog) in the house the other day while Alex was in the bathtub, and Alex saw him and said "Bad doggie! Out!!!" LOL

He decided that Achilles needed a snack and he said "Mama doggie snack"

He wanted juice the other day... "Mama Juice please.... NOW!" LOL (At least he tried to be polite at first lol)

And he says a lot of words / sentences in spanish too... He cracks me up because like his father, he talks in his sleep ALL the time!!

He is starting to tell on people too. Like if David wont let him jump on the couch or have candy he comes and tells me lol He is so funny lately just cracks me up!!! (o: He's at the fun age where he's starting to talk and share his ideas verbally.

I'm trying to get a video of him saying "Oh No!" because he looks so worried and really concerned while saying it LOL Crack me up my crazy little Chatterbox!

WHAT TEACHERS MAKE

My sister-in-law posted this a while ago. Just thought it was neat! (o:

WHAT TEACHERS MAKE

The dinner guests were sitting around the table discussing life.

One man, a CEO, decided to explain the problem with education.
He argued, "What's a kid going to learn from someone who decided his best
option in life was to become a teacher?"
He reminded the other dinner guests what they say about teachers:
"Those who can, do. Those who can't, teach."

To stress his point he said to another guest; "You're a teacher, Bonnie.
Be honest. What do you make?"
Bonnie, who had a reputation for honesty and frankness replied,
"You want to know what I make? (She paused for a second, then began...)
"Well, I make kids work harder than they ever thought they could.
I make a C+ feel like the Congressional Medal of Honor.
I make kids sit through 40 minutes of class time when their parents can't
make them sit for 5 without an I Pod, Game Cube or movie rental...
You want to know what I make?" (She paused again and looked at each and
every person at the table.)
I make kids wonder.
I make them question.
I make them criticize.
I make them apologize and mean it.
I make them have respect and take responsibility for their actions.
I teach them to write and then I make them write.
I make them read, read, read.
I make them show all their work in math.
I make my students from other countries learn everything they need
to know in English while preserving their unique cultural identity.
I make my classroom a place where all my students feel safe.
I make my students stand to say the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag,
because we live in the United States of America.
Finally, I make them understand that if they use the gifts they were given,
work hard, and follow their hearts, they can succeed in life.

(Bonnie paused one last time and then continued.)
"Then, when people try to judge me by what I make, I can hold my head up
high and pay no attention because they are ignorant...
You want to know what I make?

I MAKE A DIFFERENCE. What do you make?"

THIS IS WORTH SENDING TO EVERY TEACHER YOU KNOW.
(And everyone on your mailing list, for that matter).

THERE IS MUCH TRUTH IN THIS STATEMENT:
"Teachers make every other profession "

Such a Big Boy!

Is it possible for little kids to get used to a routine so fast? I decided that Alex needs to go to sleep at a reasonable hour for a 1 ½ year old child. I was letting him stay up until *I* went to bed. But in the mornings he was just a pain! He would fight and cry the entire time. So he is now going to sleep at 8pm! That might still be a little late for him, but going from 10-11pm to 8 seemed like a good choice! Anyway at around 7:30pm tonight he was being whiny like he was ready for bed. I didn't want him to go to sleep at 7:30 so he played with his daddy for a half hour. At 8 we went upstairs sat in his rocking chair and in about 5 minutes he was out! And he is TOTALLY sleeping in his own room! Those of you who know, he HAD to sleep in a playpen in our room. So this is TOTALLY a huge deal for us! (o: This will be the 3rd night in a row that he will be sleeping in his room! I'm very excited!! Now if I could get him off the 3,798,238,230 bottles of milk a night we'd be set! (o: One step at a time I guess! Anyways here are some pictures of my Big Boy in his own room, in his big kid bed!!
