Such a Big Boy!

Is it possible for little kids to get used to a routine so fast? I decided that Alex needs to go to sleep at a reasonable hour for a 1 ½ year old child. I was letting him stay up until *I* went to bed. But in the mornings he was just a pain! He would fight and cry the entire time. So he is now going to sleep at 8pm! That might still be a little late for him, but going from 10-11pm to 8 seemed like a good choice! Anyway at around 7:30pm tonight he was being whiny like he was ready for bed. I didn't want him to go to sleep at 7:30 so he played with his daddy for a half hour. At 8 we went upstairs sat in his rocking chair and in about 5 minutes he was out! And he is TOTALLY sleeping in his own room! Those of you who know, he HAD to sleep in a playpen in our room. So this is TOTALLY a huge deal for us! (o: This will be the 3rd night in a row that he will be sleeping in his room! I'm very excited!! Now if I could get him off the 3,798,238,230 bottles of milk a night we'd be set! (o: One step at a time I guess! Anyways here are some pictures of my Big Boy in his own room, in his big kid bed!!

What a little cutie!!! If he got used to the new routine THAT fast, then he REALLY needed more sleep . . . so its a good thing you made the switch. Little kids generally take their cue from you, and there was a time that maybe him staying up till you went to bed worked well . . . but it sounds like NOW that THIS schedule is better for him.

He looks SOOO incredibly adorable in his little bed . . . like SUCH a big boy!!! (Well . . . relatively speaking) ;o).

I had to chuckle at your comment about the three million bottles a night . . . maybe just give him water in them? He may just decide that it just isn't worth it to wake up for WATER . . . That worked for a friend of mine, once upon a time. Might be worth a try for Lex . . .

I've tried giving him water, and he throws a fit and starts to cry even more. He doesn't drink milk that much during the day, so at night is when he wants all the milk in the world! He thinks if you try to give him milk during the day you want him to go to sleep, so that upsets him greatly! LOL

lol, that is funny. Hey if he sleeps all night that is totally worth leaving the milk thing alone for at least a week before you tackle that one, right?

So cool that he's sleeping so well for you!

YAY! Good for you and David Tania! I'm sure it was hard to take that step to get him in his OWN bed! Soon he will be sleeping through the night and you will be LOVING the 3 or 4 hours you have to just watch TV or pick up the house or even talk with David!
