Slacker!

Seriously have been slacking on my blog! Hmmm.... oh well, at least I updated the background AND our picture on the front cover thing haha

Wow!

So yeah, I suck at blogging! I seriously haven't posted ANYTHING new since Mother's Day!!! How pathetic is THAT!?!??! So much has happened since then its ridiculous! I'm NOT even going to TRY and get to everything!!! Yeah everything that's happened deserves it's own post, but who are we kidding?! that will NEVER happen! So in a nut shell;

Alex started Kindergarten!! He LOVES it! He is learning so much! And can even start to read signs when we are out and about! He is OBSESSED with the letter sounds and how they make words! Makes us spell EVERYTHING he sees. I swear sometimes it seems like we no longer use words to speak, but letters to spell everything out! haha

Gabe turned TWO... yes TWO! I can't believe how fast time flies! Seriously I know I say that ALL the time! but Seriously! It's mind boggling to me!! One second he wasn't here, and the next he is TWO! What the heck?!? How did that even happen?! Well, Gabe is a funny little temperamental guy! No joke! He knows what he wants and will get it NO MATTER WHAT!!!!!!! His favorite things to do right now are;1.  be his own boss! No one can tell him what to do! You can try, but it wont happen! 2. ANNOY Alex to NO end!!!!!!!!!! He seriously drives Alex crazy! Poor kid!  3. Read books.... my kids come from nerdy parents who love to read. So is that even a surprise that they too love to read!? Too bad that Gabe bugs Alex so much I doubt Alex will want to read to him haha

My mom had a horrible accident at work mid September. Seriously I was talking to Jenniffer last night about how September flew by and was such a blur! All I remember was My birthday, Mom's accident, and Gabe's birthday. Her injuries include a broken arm from her fingers to her elbow. her bone was broken in three different parts. Her ring finger was the most damaged of all her fingers, and she required two skin grafts! Yeah my poor Mom has had a rough painful month! On Thursday it will be a month that this happened! So glad she's feeling SO much better!! Not only was it stressful trying to take care of her, but also trying to find people I TRUST to watch Gabe for us!

We seriously have the BEST family EVER!!! At one point or another everyone dropped everything they were doing to help!!! So again... Thank you So Much Becky, who watched him a few times. Thank you so much Sue (Gramma) for literally dropping everything and spending an entire week away from your house and your life to watch Gabe for the entire week! And for making delicious dinners and picking Alex up from school and helping with homework and reading Gabe 98 million books, and playing games with both boys so that David and I could catch our breaths! (Have I mentioned that we should have kidnapped you and really miss you a lot?!) Thanks Dad! For moving your vacation around, not only to help take care of Mom, but for watching Gabe too!! I know he was rough with his tantrums, and wanting to be his own boss and all. And for making yummy dinners too! (o: Thanks sis and Mario for watching Gabe too!!! Thanks David for rescheduling your fun Christmas vacation, to a boring one in October to stay with our sick boys. Sorry you got sick in the process! (o:

My Mom is feeling better this week, and I had Monday (Columbus Day) off (what you didn't?!) so I had BOTH my monkeys, and Today my Mom insisted on taking Gabe alone so he wouldn't be put in day care! Uh oh!! Hope everything goes well and David gets off work early to pick him up from her house. He or my Dad usually have Wednesdays off so they can watch Gabe, and Thursday and Friday she will have have him for a little while again. Then I'm off for Fall Break!! WOOHOO!!! (What you dont have a Fall break?! What a rip off!)

Anyways this post is a bunch of nothing haha makes no sense, but I really just wanted to post something! (o:

Mother's Day!

This year for Mother's we kept it low key and didn't do anything fancy. David kept the boys for hours so I could go and get a pedicure, and my eye brows threaded. Yeah I went to FOUR different places for my pedicure and the waits were INSANE! Like from an hour to 3 hours?! Geez!! Apparently I wasn't the only one with the same idea! So out the window went my pedicure )o: boo! So maybe this weekend! We'll see! (o:

Anyways I didn't get any extravagant gifts this year, but I did get LOTS and LOTS of hugs and kisses, and "love you Mama" and the kids were extra good, and David was extra helpful with them. So it was a good day!!!

I know I'm loved by my babies, and didn't need a lot of gifts for them to show me they love me. They DID take my car and get it detailed! Which is sooooo nice! I love getting into a nice and clean car and not having to worry if I have cheez-it crumbs on my pants haha Clean cars and kids never last long! but so far so good!! haha (Yeah, yeah I know its only been 2 days! haha)

We also went to my parents house and spent time with my parents, Jenniffer, Mario and Becky. So that was nice. We ordered chinese food, and had fruit. It was a nice easy going Mother's Day! (o:

Things I love about being a Mom;
1. That I'm their FAVORITE person EVER!
2. Unexpected hugs
3. Hearing a lot of giggles
4. Kisses (yes even slobbery, I'm in the middle of eating a sucker and I'm 1 and have so much sticky gunk on my face I will probably stick to wall by my face kisses! haha) {NEVER turn down a free kiss from my babies!}
5. hearing "I love you Mama" 5,489,416,518,945,621,654 a day! (pretty impressive that I actually counted them huh?)
6. Having 2 extra little helpers to help me do chores (even if most of the time I have to redo them, or it takes me 10 times as long to get them done.
7. The smell of freshly bathed babies
8. Hearing "Let's hold hands, shall we?" from Alex ALL the time!!!
9. Hearing "Gabe was crying, so I picked him up and made him feel better mom" and Alex brining him to me, and not dropping him haha

11. Silly "new" ways to give kisses
12. Making my boys laugh when they are crying by telling them something absolutely ridiculous haha
13. Driving in the car with the radio off, because I have my own back seat entertainment. ("Mom, lets tell silly jokes all the way to _______", or "Mom, lets sing songs the wrong way!" ex- "Twinkle, twinkle little star, how I wonder.... WHAT YOU HAD FOR BREAKFAST!" haha my own personal favorite!

16. Having Alex think of something that I would LOVE on his own! haha this year is "Hand's free soap dispensing system!" So I don't get germs on my hands!!! (For Christmas, it was a hand's free tape dispenser! My kid sure does know its the simple things in life!)
17. Tippy Tippy's (I will be at the bottom of the steps and I'll reach my hand up to Alex and we'll say "tippy Tippy's" until his little fingers reach mine!) And EVEN better now because Gabe joins in too!
18. Wiggly rugs (Crying, tantrum throwing kids on the floor get stepped on and tickled at the same time and we say "Why on earth would we buy such a wiggly rug?!" and they stop crying and start laughing!)

20. Being woken up a million times a night because they miss me, or because they need a hug, or whatever their silly reason may be at the time.

I love these two kids more than ANY other kid on this Universe! They are the best kids *I* have! I wouldn't trade them for anything on earth!!!! I'm so thankful they are MINE and they love ME! They make me be a better more patient teacher! When a kid frustrates me, I stop and think, "Now, if this was MY kid, how would I want their teacher to talk to them?" So, I breathe and think about what I say.

As exhausting as it is to be a Mom, I wouldn't trade it for anything on earth! Even if there are times, when I have gunk in my hair, stains on my clothes, and a perpetually MESSY house and Car! I love my kids, and wouldn't change them or their silly characters for anything!!

We have 21 days left of school! Not including weekends and Memorial Day which we will have off! I'm so incredibly excited!

We are teaching our kids to dance the "Electric Slide" and sing to "I Will Survive"... We didn't think this through! We have to TEACH them how to sing and dance! Which requires US to SING and DANCE! Gasp!!

Maybe YouTube has instructions we can show them instead?! Nah, I don't mind dancing in front of them. Adults, thats a different story!!!

Anyways 21 school days left! WOOHOO!!!!!!

Inspired... haha or just complaining!!

So I was reading my favorite cousin-in-law's blog, and I'm going to copy her. Only mine will be a "If you don't like it, get over it, or do something about it of the week!" type LOL



Call me lazy, a bad Mom, Wife whatever... I hate laundry! And I freely admit it! I hate ALL aspects of doing laundry and I will wait until the last possible minute to do any laundry!!! And when I do I spend most of the day doing it. So I will REFUSE... YES FLAT OUT THROW A TANTRUM LIKE A 19 MONTH OLD REFUSE to put it away!!!!!!!! Hey at least I will fold it! That SHOULD give me some points right?? AND!!!!!!! I'm making sure my family is always clean and dressed in clean clothes right?! Even if they can't wear the same clothes twice in one month LOL Anyway, I will seriously fold the laundry with every intention of putting it away, but my laundry room is downstairs and my bedrooms are upstairs. So you do the math. With Alex and Gabe being my shadows everywhere I go in the house, I can't carry a laundry basket upstairs AND Gabe. So down in folded piles IN the play pen they go. (LAZY!!!!!!! I know right?! Oh well! Like I said, at least my family will be wearing clean clothes! lol) . Now, if we are having company the clothes will be put out of sight out of mind.... IN my bedroom! It used to be put in neat piles on the bed in my computer room, but since David's brother and his wife are living in there, I figure that would be extremely rude for them to sleep on the floor so that my clean clothes could sleep on their beds HAHA So by the time they make it upstairs I now have two options, I can take up valuable room in my room with laundry baskets full of clean clothes, or I can put it all away. It's a 50/50 chance on which option I will pick.

Yes, thats extremely lazy and probably disturbing, but I have a few good reasons why putting laundry away is low...low on my priority list. First the already mentioned shadows that I have perpetually following my every move at home, plus the 40+ hours of teaching I put in (haha ok right now doesn't count as teaching because my kids are at lunch!), with grading and reading essays, thats probbaly a few million extra hours a week I WASTE.... er I mean put valuable detailed attention to. Then there is making sure my family eats dinner. It could be made my me, or picked up on the way home by me. (I need to invest in a chef) Then there is Alex and his karate, he loves it and how can I tell him he can't go to karate one day because I have to put laundry away??? That would be horrid! Then there is David and squeezing time with him between the kids and everything else I do. PLUS having Gabe is like having 3,548,932 extra kids!

So..... yeah putting laundry away is the LAST thing I want to do!!!!!

So there you have it, my first confession and entry in my "If You Don't Like it, then get over it, or do something about it" blog.

Wow, so I haven't been posting anything in forever!! Crazy!

We only have like 26 days of school left! This is not including weekends, and Memorial Day! How this year has flown!!!

I think I may be teaching summer school this year! That is if I can find a sub for two weeks! My parents will be gone to Nicaragua for 2 weeks, and I'll be on vacation with Jenniffer for one of the weeks. Well just Monday and Tuesday of that week. So we'll seeif they think that's ok. I really want Alex to go to Summer School so he ca get the feel of kindergarten and meet his teacher, and not be so scared the first day since he'll know a few of the kids on his first day of school.

Next year I'll be moved to a different campus! They are moving the 5th and 6th grade to our own campus since we are out growing our school so fast! I'm sad though! I really wanted to be here during Alex's first year at school!!! I know that's kinda lame since if he goes to another school, I wont be there at all! I wont even know the teachers or anything, but still kinda sad not to be so close to him during his first year! )o:

Which brings me to my next point! How did the past 5 years just fly by so freakin' fast?! I mean wasn't he just my sweet little snuggle bunny baby boy?! How can he be old enough to be in taekwondo AND kindergarten?! time sure does fly once you have kids!!

Which is my next example!! Gabe is 18 months old!! And talks so much!! he is soooooo incredibly funny! I love watching him discover and learn new things! (o: Such a cute baby!!

Ok so this post is out of control and doesn't make sense even to me! Oh well!! haha

Boy, time sure does fly when you are having a good time huh? Alex is SUCH a fun kid to be around! (o: We love him soooo incredibly much  (haha like that grammar huh?)

I VIVIDLY remember the day he was born. I woke up David, and then Kim (she lived with us then), and off we went to the hospital, and hours later there he was! Just born and already deep in our hearts!

Valentines Day

I cannot believe that tomorrow will be February! That is absolutely insane! Time is flying way too fast!! Alex will be 5 soon! Yikes!

Well February brings Valentines day. We dont "celebrate" Valentines Day at our house. Sometimes I wish we did. Especially when you watch movies, and the guys are so romantic and just take their girlfriends / wives breath away during Valentines Day. Yeah well, we dont do that! LOL We don't even acknowledge it. If I didnt work on Valentines Day I wouldn't get a single thing on that day! How pitiful is that? lol For the most part I dont care, as David says it's just a day that's been commercialized by jewelry companies to get people to buy elaborate things for your significant other. But sometimes I WANT to be surprised too... sigh.. oh well that's just not David. I will definitely make sure Alex and Gabe celebrate Valentines Day! LOL

Christmas Part I

So yeah, I'm kinda slacking on my posting lol but that's ok no one seems to mind anyways.

For Christmas we always do Christmas Eve with my family here at home, and then wake up in the wee hours of the morning (I'm talking about 2 or 3am!) and drive to CA to spend Christmas morning with David's family. This year was no exception! We love being close enough to be able to spend these important holidays with both families. We think Holidays are so important and like the little tradition that we have started since Alex has been born. This year we were able to spend the entire week from Christmas until New Years day in CA with David's family. It was so fun, and the week just FLEW by! I was able to spend time with my friends also, and we went to Disneyland, and met Travis' girlfriend Kjersten also.

The best part was letting Alex and Gabe spend A LOT of time with their grandparents. We want them to have fun memories of both sets of grandparents, and since they see my parents on a daily basis we really need to work on letting them see gramma and grampa more too. Maybe we can skype or something. Or we just need to work on more visits both here in AZ and in CA.

The years are seriously FLYING by! I remember when I was a kid and my birthday, and Christmas always seemed sooooooo far away! Now, I'm going to start to plan Alex's 5th, yes i said F I F T H birthday party! How could that be possible?!?! Wasn't he just born last week?! He reminds me on a daily basis that he isn't my baby anymore! How tragic is that?! He is such a big kid and so independent (at times anyways). But I love that he will still come and snuggle with me (o: He is seriously the funniest kid ever! Says such random stuff all the time!

While we were in CA for the holidays, he told his gramma "Gramma, can you just tell me I'm awesome?!" LOL and he tells us all the time "Tell me I'm handsome" lol Which he IS awesome AND handsome, so they arent hard to do!! He sure can be frustrating at times too though! Like when it's time to eat, he ALWAYS is "Sooooo full!", or he HATES whatever we are eating. Even if we know that's a lie and he LOVES it. For some reason this weirdo child HATES to eat! Well unless you are giving him chicken nuggets, hot dogs, french fries, "Yucky Sandwiches", apples, oranges, rice, beans, and of course RANCH! That kid will seriously dip his eggs in ranch! ugh! But hey if he will eat it, I don't care that he has to have ranch too!

After we read his bedtime story every night we snuggle in his bed, and last night he asked me "Mom, what shape do you love me like?" and I said "I love you like a heart because hearts mean love" and he said "I love you like a circle mom, because it keeps going and going!" How AWESOME is that?! That he knows circles have no real end?! (o: I love my smart boy!

Even though he looks like he would be a bully, he so ISN'T! He is taller than most kids his age but he never takes advantage of that. Whenever we go to the park or a place where there are a lot of kids he never pushes or takes cuts in front of other kids, he always tells me "I'll just wait my turn Mom!", and eventually he will either wander away and do something else or WE have to kinda push other kids aside so he gets a turn too! (unlike Gabe who kinda knocks ANYONE over to get what he wants lol)

Ok, now to funny stuff he says!

For Christmas Santa brought him TWO Hungry Hungry Hippo Games. One at his Nana's house and one at his Gramma's house! (Does Santa know this kid or what?!) And all week he would play Hungry Hungry Hippos with Gramma. On New Years Eve he asked Gramma "Can we play Hungry Hungry Hippos just six times?" LOL Of course Gramma ended up playing like a million more games lol So when we were leaving, I asked him if he wanted to leave his game at Grammas so that he would have a Game to play with when we went back fro a visit since he had one at home too? And he agreed to leave it so that Gramma could Practice lol So last night he had been playing his other set of Hungry Hungry Hippos with Nana, and he asked me "Mom, can you do me a favor?" and I said "Sure, what?" and he said "Can you just drive to Gramma's house and pick up my Other Hungry Hippos game? I can't win using this one!" LOL Ummm sure buddy!
