What Baby Gabe is up to.

Your baby weighs about 8 1/2 ounces, and measures 6 inches, head to bottom — about the size of a large heirloom tomato. The hair on his scalp is sprouting. This is a crucial time for sensory development: Your baby's brain is designating specialized areas for smell, taste, hearing, vision, and touch. Some research suggests that he may be able to hear your voice now, so don't be shy about reading aloud, taking to him, or singing a happy tune if the mood strikes you.

I am just AMAZED at how good Gabriel looks for only being about 6 inches! WOW!

6 inches that is crazy! I was wondering how big all the bebe's were at this point(yours and heather's so nobody else reading this gets confused and thinks you have more than one)

Is the room decorating going to start pretty soon now that you know? Did you buy anything yet? On your day galavanting, as you said, around town?

Yes, I want to start looking for a cute bug crib set. They are harder than I thought they would be to find! (Reminds me of the Heffalumps! Ack!) And I want to go to Michaels and get the bugs to take to CA this weekend to get them painted! David is just waiting for me to get the wild hair to start decorating the nursery! LOL He knows me too well. And especially now that we know we are having a boy he knows it's only a matter of time before I start to bug him to clean out the room and start painting LOL And put the crib together and everything (o: I haven't bought anything yet!

Tania . . . If you are not able to buy a cute bug crib set . . . I can sew sheets and a bumper pad . . . I have a pattern for them, and the bumper pad was a royal pain but the sheets were just FUN . . . I also can sew curtains . . . You do not have to utilize me for this (I know you love to shop!) but you can, if you would like to. That way you just go pick out cute fabric you like, and tell me what you want . . .

Just so you know, that IS an option . . . I couldn't do much until after finals, but that is only a few weeks away, then it looks like I will be working a couple of days a week, but not taking any classes this summer, so I wont have homework or projects of studying to do . . .

I LOVE the idea of a nursery painted with bugs . . .

Oh . . . about the bug stuff . . . have you looked online? As far as stores go, Babies R Us and the Burlington Coat Factory (0r is it just "Burlington"?) seem to have the biggest selection of baby sets like that (at least that I have seen in stores). . .

Your little tomato is SOOOO cute . . . it really IS an amazing miracle at just how a child grows and developes . . .

Oh, and I admit that I had never sewn crib sheets or a bumper pad until Sam asked me to, because she couldn't find a set like she wanted in deep rich colors for Dean's room (lots of jungley things, but all in pastels) . . . and then she asked for 'cute' sheets for Ashleigh's toddler bed . . . so that is what got me started . . . and I THOUGHT it would be really hard, but it really wasn't . . . the bumper pad is the only hard part because you are sewing with THICK batting . . . but I have done one now, so I am EXPERIENCED now . . .

You could ask her (privately, if you want) how they worked or how she liked them . . .

I LOVE(D) the stuff you made, Mom. We still have the sheets (and use them, since my kids are still both in toddler beds... actually, if you are making sheets, you could make some more for my kiddos if you wanted to too - mostly for Dean, who would probably rather have dinosaurs or cars or something than just plain jungle leaves and green)... I thought it was so cool to have ones that no one else had too.

Ohhh, if you want to shop though - the orange county shop meet has some really cool ones sometimes...

p.s. - I really came on here to say, that is seriously awesome - all of the details and things on those ultrasound pictures, when Gabe is six inches long! That's insane. Such a cutie!
